I went food shopping this morning. Needed the usual, milk, butter, eggs and cat food. Didn’t think I’d end up bringing home a little wayward and lost kitty. Very tame and friendly and seemed to enjoy riding on the headrest on the way back home. Think I’ll call her Maegesho Mengi for now.

It’s late into the evening and you can barely see it but the end of the rainbow was quite close. I looked real hard to see if there was a pot of gold out there but then I realized it’s probably just the BP oil spill :/
This is the second time I’ve been real close to the end of a rainbow and thought it was interesting…and I’ve got a friend that will get a kick out of this.

I was kinda staring out the window this morning and noticed a large wake swirling around the old dock. At first I thought it was a large fish until I saw several dorsal fins break the surface. There were 5 dolphins cruising the shallows (2-3ft). I jumped out of my chair, grabbed the camera and ran into the door…literally. Stubbed my toe on the other door, jumped the porch railing and hobbled/ran to the edge of the bank. This was the best image I could get.
I thought this was an interesting cloud. Early morning and just the top of this one cloud was being lit in interesting shades.

I was watching a storm roll across the Gulf of Mexico and almost forgot to grab the camera. The storm was about 6 miles offshore. The lights in the foreground are a barge parked in the intercoastal waterway.

I was watching BP’s 6th or 7th attempt to “plug the damn hole”. All the ROV’s were hovering around the well head and I had a sudden flashback to the movie Batteries Not Included.
It was just an odd moment but they do come over me time to time :/
The other day I had an odd moment at work when I got a chance to reflect on peoples lack of common sense. We have some old 55gal drums at the shop that were filled with old hardened paint. The owner decided it was time to cut them open and transfer the contents so it can be disposed of. He had one of the guys drag the barrels out to do this process.

It’s finally feeling like spring and I’m getting a chance to let Junebug explore the great outdoors. Today she discovered trees!

I just got back from a 4 hour road trip. I was on a mission to get a John Deere setup for my dad. When I got to the place and got out of my truck I was greeted by the howling of many wolves. Turns out the guy I bought the Deere from runs a refuge for wolves. He was even kind enough to take me on a tour of his place. He even has two tigers!
more images after the jump…
